48”W x 10’H x 6”D, Dichroic Glass, Commissioned by a Private Client
- The owners of this contemporary deco style home approached Gordon Huether to create integrated artwork that will become part of a prominently located foyer wall. Dichroic glass was a natural choice for the artist, as the couple was seeking to underline the that reflects the homeowner’s appreciation for Northern California’s flora and its unique atmospheric conditions. The artist created two large, abstract works, mirroring Manzanita forests, beautiful sunsets of the Napa Valley, dancing fog and warm sunlight.
- The pieces set a gentle and thoughtful mood, reflecting a reverence for nature. The subdued, slender branches intertwine and create tangled layers. This seemingly arbitrary arrangement of branches creates a perfect juxtaposition to the vibrantly colored, and perfectly shaped dichroic glass beneath. Its light-refracting properties add an elegant and sophisticated glow to the living space in this St. Helena home.
